Another day, another dollar, or penny, or something like that

"Alright Morgan, time to set out for the next set of mages."  Click turned when he didn't hear a response.  "Morgan?"  Nothing.  "Where could she have gone?"

Both he and Kots ran over to where the other mages had fallen.  As they arrived, a fireball whizzed right by them.  They looked over to see the mage that Morgan had previously held in place.  "Looks like the holding spell wore off."  Kots always did like to state the obvious.

"What did you do with her?!"  shouted Click.

"I didn't do anything!" shouted the hunched mage as he prepared to launch another spell.

Click raised his hand and absorbed the ray of poison that was thrown at him.  He fought back a wince, for that one stung a little; he must be nearing his limit.  "If you tell us what happened, we'll let you go without beating you to a pulp."  Click never enjoyed making threats, but he couldn't just stand there all day wasting time and magic.

The mage just stood for a second, almost as if trying to weight the options in his head, and then finally blurted out, "I saw some guys take her.  They put a black bag over her head, and ran off behind me."  The footprints could be seen in the sand.

"It looks like he's telling the truth," again, Kots had to state the obvious.

"Thank you for your time and information."  Click and Kots walked past the mage, and followed the trail of footprints.  I can't smell anything besides Kots and that mage, so they probably used some sort of transportation.

"Kots, do you smell any sort of transportation magic residue, like summoning, or teleportation?"

Kots sniffed the air for a few seconds, and then put his hand up to signal to hold.  They hadn't quite reached the top of this dune yet.  Kots ran to the top, stuck his head over by a smidge, and then ran back to Click.  "Looks like they're dampening their magical auras.  I just barely caught a whiff of them now.  Their just over this hill on the other side.  There's six or so, and they're all together, in some sort of circle or something.  Looks bad, boss, what do we do?"

Sometimes it actually was nice for Kots to have the brevity that he did.  That's why he was a warrior mage, and not a diplomat.  "I guess we're gonna have to storm the mages, take them by surprise, and get our third member back.  After that, we need to win this thing."

Kots nodded, "Alright, I'll lead in.  Let me know when you're ready."

Click was slightly envious of Kots' ability to absorb spells, his limit was much higher than his, but that meant that he always had to be the first one to run into battle, which was something that he never wanted to do.  He and Kots got to the top of the hill, and he looked down.  Ok, maybe Kots' brevity didn't do the whole situation justice.  He couldn't believe what he saw on the other side of the dune.  He'd only seen it in text books.

(alright, a little less action in this one, but a good setup for tomorrow, eh?  ;)  Anywho, thanks to whoever voted in the polls, you're awesome!  Have a blessed day!)
